I am not at all framiliar w/ the LS at all, but you might post some more details than just it isn't working. Is it turning on or doing anything? Does it display any error codes? have you checked all the fuses in the car?

Forgive me but I'm going to ask an obvious question, "The radio is turned on with the key in the ignition right?"
I ask b/c you can take out the cd magazine without power on.

I don't have an LS either, but I would first check for fuses, even for loose cables from the radio, battery terminal. Try taking out the + battery terminal for 15 minute or so. Either way, you can reset your car while you're at it.

You will need to get a repair manual to have any hope of knowing what you are doing. Check for power with an ammeter at the nav dvd drive. (Obviously wiht the key in the igniton turned to ON). Check fuses with an ammeter for continuity as they may APPEAR ok but may be inconspicuously blown. I am not sure if the navi unit screen sends power or turns on the drive or vice versa. Do a search, this problem sounds familiar and someone else may have had it.
