Default LS430 is your weekend car, then your commuter is a . . .

Hi all, I know you can see my posts, and I'm pretty sure that right now it's still under 10 posts. I'm sorry that I'm a newbie. I have a Toyota Celica GTS for a commuter car and I have a ton of mileage on it.

Okay, now the question is, for the people that treat their LS as a weekend car, what car do people drive usually during the week. I like to drive only Toyota products and I was thinking about the 2IS, and I already started inquiring about it at my local dealership. I wanted to get other people's thoughts about what they drive.

I have my 03 VW GTI as my daily beater...but I'm thinking of maybe an IS300 or a 4Runner for daily duties.

My LS is my commuter, I want to get a bike or an S2000 as my weekend car. Something small, tight and able to throw around.

Does no one else care to answer.

FLIPPU, I think those cars would be great daily cars.

vraa, that's great that your LS is your commuter, I want to use that for my commuter but I got pulled over once already for driving that car while an officer thinks I'm too young to drive such a car.

I think most people buy the LS to commute in, thats the best part of the LS, is the comfort.

A weekend car for most people would more be along the lines of a two door like a 911, SL500/55, corvette... etc. Something that isn't practical for everyday use.

Don't sweat it man, I've gotten two tickets in the LS so far, you just have to learn to blend in. It's hard but you can do it.

Grand LS - I gotta drive about 60 miles a day, so an S2000 would be stupid except on the weekends. I would love to have a project car to invest my spare (haha) time into.

vraa, I was going 5 over the speed limit, then I got pulled over because I wasn't in my work clothes, I was going to pick up my fiancee so we can go out, so since I was dressed in street clothes, he wanted to do a "search" in my car, which of course, he didn't find anything.

Grand LS 4, I drive my Supra on the weekends too, but I thought that driving the LS430 would be too expensive to drive as an everyday car. That's a lot of premium fuel, and an 8-cylinder mpg isn't that great.

Johnjohn13, that's great about the Corolla, my friend is about to do that swap too.

Ouch, 5 over is a crappy move, never liked the bad apples that did that

I've only had an officer want to search my car when I had the X5 with loaddddds of stuff in the back. My buddy and I were building a catapult for physics so I had lots of wood and pvc pipes laid everywhere.

How much effort is involved in the Corolla swap? I've had a soft spot for those cars.

We were talking to a person about that already, they said that the only thing that would be hard would be for someone to fabricate engine mounts along with the Matrix bushings. But he said as long as you have a manual Corolla, it's going to be a regular swap after you get the mounts.

Those all sound like practical cars for everyday use for ME

I don't have a LS430, but my Lexus is actually my weekend car, the G35 coupe is my daily driver.

Same here! Those are really practical cars.

My GS400 is my daily driver and weekend car all spring, summer and fall.

I also have a POS Neon that I drive to the train station (10 mins from my home) to commute into work everyday. Believe it or not, it got keyed already.
