Default Any former GS 430 owners..

I have an 04 but for some reason im getting the itch to get into an LS 430. Question is do any of you regret the trade UP...I drive primarily on the expressway, and I guess im looking for a little softer ride. I do love the way the GS balances comfort, power and style but im torn. Cant have it all I guess. any thoughts. Joe

the only thing i don't like about the LS is the steering, which is even softer and even less road feel from inside the cabin

otherwise, the ls430 is a lot softer and more comfortable

Default I agree

The GS feels more athletic, but as far as ride quality and cush nothing beats an LS.

I wasn't an owner, but I have a friend that I ride with everyday because we hang out just about everyday after work. When I ride in his GS, the ride feels a little more harsh, but when I get back into my Lexus, you can feel how smooth it is. rominl is right, you can feel less with the LS steering because it's so soft, but that's one thing I like about it. I guess it depends on your preference. If you like your GS because of how sporty it is, then you should keep it. If you want something more smooth, then I think the LS is just perfect for that.

I'm going through a phase right now that I'm actually considering the new
GS350 for my '03 LS430 for the lack of "character". The drive in the LS has become somewhat "monotonous". It's a beautiful car, don't get me wrong. I just miss the spirited driving from a smaller car. But also keep in mind that if you are planning on modding the LS430 with lowered suspension and 19-20" wheels (w/low profile tires), the "smoothness" will definitely be sacrificed for the sake of the aesthetic upgrade.

My other option is to convince my wife to get an IS350. I'm sure she won't mind trading cars with me once in a while and I'm sure the IS350 will satisfy my thirst for "spirited" driving.

2 days ago I picked up a used 2001 GS430 for DD duties..... the LS is the cushy ride with all the amenities and my GS430 is now the go fast around the corner and mash on the gas kinda car...and it came with some sort of exhaust so it is also much louder than the 04 LS430.

seems like you want more driving experience, in that case i think the GS is a much better option for you
