I'm looking at a 2001 LS430 Premium Package. It's here in Canada, so Navigation was not an option on the 2001 in Canada. It has every other option available in 2001. The car has 49,000 miles on it, and the price at the moment is around $27,500USD. I'm in the process of getting service history,etc. The car is in mint shape, and has been well cared for. One issue is the owner just put new winter tires on last year, and was going to put new summer tires on after this winter, so there are no summer tires to go with it.

My question is which "book" best reflects the value of this (and other) cars? Red? Blue? Gold? Black? If I go by Canadian Black Book, the average retail price is $23,650CDN. Is this realistic for this car? It seems that the dealers use Black book on trade ins because the values seem lower. (Of course, they don't use Black book when pricing their cars!)

Does anyone see this as priced to high?

Also, are they any issues to look for specifically on the '01?

with that equipment and those miles i would say $27k usd is on the high end of retail, but not too far off, depends on the records, accident history, etc.

for the record, i appraise using black book or kelly blue book, or sometimes even look at manheim market reports.

In the us in 2001 the ultra luxury package was offered It included adj suspension rear reclining seats rear window shades radar cruise control etc.When it comes to pricing all those amounts are taken into cosideration.But the bottom line is the price is what ever the seller wants to sell the car for.Good luck
