Question Questons about 2001-2002 ls430

I have been searching past threads and I havent found a solid answer..I was hoping the Ls exparts can help me out. I wanted to know what is the biggest difference between the levinson system and the regular base system besides the Nav??Also aside from the factory stability control(air suspension) what are some of the biggest advantages to getting the UL model??Sorry if some of these questions have been answered but your help is appreciated..Thanks in advance.

Here is the different items found in the Ultra luxury package, straight from Lexus' model library for the 2001 model year:

- Mark Levinson® 11-speaker 240-watt[2] Premium Sound System
- Lexus DVD Navigation System[5]
- Wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel with voice-command button
- Front climate-control seats with heat and cool ****
- Lexus Link
- Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with one-touch open/close, pinch protection and sliding sunshade
- Dynamic Laser Cruise Control
- Adaptive Variable Air Suspension
- Heated rear seats with power recline and massager
- Intuitive Parking Assist System
- Perforated aniline leather seating surfaces (comfort leather for Ecru)
- Rear air conditioner with air purifier
- Rear seat audio controls
- Laminated side glass
- Power rear window and manual rear-door sunshades
- Power Door closers

Now, about the ML vs. stock, there is a huge difference. The ML comes with 11 speakers, and 240 watts of power (stock is 7 w/190). The sound is light years ahead, not to mention DSP, which optimizes the sound output to those actually seated (not sure if that was available in '01).

Please use the search function, and read some of the past threads... this was discussed recently.

Thanks for the response..I have already used the search feature and have read what you posted as far the "lexus Specs", but what Im looking for is the actual owners opinion instead of reading what Lexus post.I want to know if the UL package is really worth the extra money and you already answered my initial question about the difference between levinson and stock..

Like Grand said it's all there recently as a few members have been searching for 01's vs. 04's and yes the ML system is a huge difference. I own an 04 like Mr. Grand and love the car, I have the Ultra sans NAV as Hawaii isn't mapped for Lexus but other than that I love the air suspension, ML, auto leveling projector HID's, sharper body lines etc. I highly recommend an 04 or newer.

have an 05 with the ULTRA package and love it,, grandkids really love it in the back seat with the seperate air control and then they start working on the XM radio from back there,,

wife can't believe all the controls and will never take the time to understand them and that is fine,, she does enjoy what the package offers her for additional comfort,,

also very quiet and ohhhhh the soft ride,,

would I buy it again,, YEP,,

Here's the real question: Are you willing to pony up at least $6k (used) for the UL setup? Personally, I'd love to have it, but for me, I'm customizing my LS well beyond the UL package . If you plan on doing any extensive audio modifications, find an LS without NAVI since its all integrated into the radio and AC controls (pain in the butt).

Or, just use the factory NAV with an aftermarket device that converts high level outputs to line level. Example: JL Audio cleansweep or my personal preference - Audio Control's 6 channel converter (can't remember the model number).

that would be the Audiocontrol LC6 line output converter. I believe there is also an LC8
