Lightbulb Can I watch DVD on Nav Screen?

Hello all... I'm a new student here,,,

I've purchased 04 LS430, with Nav, ML with 6 CD in dash changer, couple of weeks ago, (Onyx Black / Baige) and I'm really liking it so far...

I been reading some threads and probably have following done soon;
1: Vaistech - Ipod hook-up.
2: Bluetooth Lockout.

But I've noticed that, on GS models, they can watch DVD movies with modifications.... How do they do that? Do they have DVD player that LS does'nt have?

Did anyone done this to LS?
Don't know if this is even possible,,,, or if possible has anyone done it? and how much to;

Also, did anyone added a Laser Cruse Control? If so, what is involve and how much???

Appreciate all your feed backs

Dojo,

On the current GS350/450h, ES350, IS250/350 models they have the 5th gen Nav system which (when it is ML) is capable of DVD play when stopped (or when moving with modifications). Your LS has a 4th gen nav which only has a CD changer- the DVD disk is in the trunk and reserved for a nav DVD.

There are various aftermarket kits you can add to add video, but you'll need an external source.

You can do ANYTHING with enough $$, but the significant issues you'll face is integrating the electronics and fittment. I've not seen anyone do that on our forums. You can buy a LS460

I'd wait a few months - believe Vaistech is coming out with something new.

asking a reputable audio shop to add a video converter to your nav screen is a great option. most shops i have asked told me they charge 800 to 1000 for full video and direct audio integration.

If composite video is good enough, you can get the Ultimate Lockpick and it comes with a yellow (composite) cable that plugs into the back of the NAV screen. It also will come with a dual stereo plug. I've tested it with an old VCR I had out in my garage just for fun.

On the voice command, say "DVD" and you'll see the screen I'm talking about. Like others have said, you'll need an external source.
