They may not look bad but after 100k miles they are much softer then the new ones. This applies to all LS's. They are cheap and both are an easy diy if you are inclined.
Oh good to know. i'm not mechanically inclined whatsoever. what would the dealer charge me to do those various changes?

The chrome on my wheels is peeling off and it's $1100 to redo it since no one has them in stock here in san diego. they'd have my car for 2 weeks to rechrome my actual wheels (not trade out). it's not leaking air yet though...maybe i'll hold off. on the other hand I don't want to wait until the wheel re-chromers are out of business...I guess it's not popular anymore.

I would buy the parts yourself and pay for labor only. Lexus of South Atlanta is one of my favorite places and there are others on here. Dealer labor rates are high by I am sure they would do it. I personally would use good independent Japanese or Lexus shop. Parts should be around $200 - $250. To change out both is like 30 min of work with a lift.

Thanks for your input. I will be driving it more now that my grand daughter has her eye on the 04 Acura RL. Do you think I should change the timing belt/water pump now @ 32600 miles? Or wait a while? TY for your input.

The car looks like new inside and out. I Bought it about 3 years ago with 125,000 miles on it. I've owned brand new Cadillacs, Lincolns, etc. and this is by far the most realible and most comfortable car I've ever owned. I'm looking to get to 300,000 if I can. When this one goes I'll buy another 10 year old LS.
The post above is from September of 2014. I have 220,000 miles on it now and its still going strong!!! It runs, drives and looks great. No rust, dents, scrapes, etc. I'm still in disbelief of how good these cars hold up. Every single button and option works as it should. The seats are in great shape with almost no wear whatsoever.

I think Lexus cooperate realized that the 430 was so good it could not be duplicated. Really too nice for them. They last so long and hold up so well their profit margins on parts and service would decline. So, to solve this problem they decided to design the LS460...

Really, speaking of the leather in my car. People are amazed at how well it has held up. Barely any wear on the drivers seat and the rest is just pristine. Blows my mind too and I don't have a garage.

^That's just amazing.

Any comments on how the car has been treating you, especially that your car is only 100k miles away from crossing the distance to the moon and all the way back to earth :P

Just great to see these engines rack up the numbers.

Love to see that gdigio13. I had 355K +/- on my 2006, before I traded it.

Just turned 63,000 on my '05 LS 430. The car runs and looks new. The interior is pristine. The previous owner used the reflective windshield sun screen religiously, and so do I. Its important for protecting the dash ... and especially the interior wood.
