Button that turns off Navi screen

Button that turns off Navi screen
Hey Guys Im new here to the forum and have recently acquired an 02' Pearl white Ultra. I found a button under my dash yesterday that turns off the image in the navi screen. NOTE:It does not turn it off like the screen off feature does,it just has a gray background like a tv with no signal. What could this be? Could it be that the previous owner had a dvd set up? Give me some insight on this as some of you may have this setup.
