Default 2Q: All LS430's Ca Ready? / Push Button Start vs Smart Key

Are all LS430s equipped for the tough emmision laws of California?

What are some of the similarities with Smart key v.s. Push Button Start. Has anyone used both? What are your thoughts on both systems. Advantages of either? What years used each?

Cant speak for the emissions, but smart key and push start are pretty much the same thing, only difference is one is cranked by the ECU, as opposed to you cranking with the smartkey. And one is a button, the other is a **** you turn.

Smart key started in 04' correct? How about push button? Did that start with the 460 or where they in the 05's or 06's?

Not sure about that but I can confirm that my 2004 LS has the smart key access with a turn key system.

Push button started in the 460's as far as the LS is concerned.

anyone thought about trying to do a conversion to the button instead of using the key?

It's not a key but a **** that looks like an old fashioned ignition only you don't use the key, you just turn it to start as long as the key is in the car. The conversion would sound crazy and expensive.
