Default Vais install instructions to remove radio

I just brought this today and I have a few install questions....

Do I need to call Lexus first and get the code for the radio if I disconnect the battery?

Does anyone have the actual process stepped out to remove and then reinstall?

Thanks to all that read and thanks to Club Lexus for the group buy...

Now do a GB for VIP kits!

I did a small write-up HERE if you want to check it out.

Good luck,
Mike

Looks pretty straight forward....still a question about unhooking the radio though...I will get my vin and call lexus for the code just in case.

Thanks Mike.
How did you run the wiring to the center console? I'm assuming you had to cut a hole to get in? Were you able to run the wiring under the shifter?

I just bought an SLI and I'm not sure where I want to store the box (console vs. glove box). I was thinking the glove box would be easier/more concealed due to proximity of the head unit, although from other postings it seems I may need to remove the nav to do this (which I'm not going to do).
Thanks!

I installed the VAIS unit and iPod in the glove box, so I did not have to run wires to the center console.

I ended up putting in the center con, I drilled a hole on the right lower side and used velcro to mount the unit to the left side of the box and still have plenty of room to still be able store items and have easy access to the Ipod with out haveing to reach across. Also I chose the MD option to have up to 999 songs on the play list even thoough I am using a NANO it seems to be a more flexible way to do plus it list the name of the songs which I like.

Super easy mod that took about an hour that sounds incredible of the Levinson set up. Thanks again CL for the GB.
