Just got the car back from the 50K service. Problem solved, but I have no idea what the solution was. Either way, I have seamless, strong acceleration. Its like they reset something at the service department. Even appears to have more low-end torque
I'm curious to know what they did. I won't accept the "placebo effect", just yet

Hmm. still thinking. I did have them balance the tires (50,700 miles), but I doubt that would have a obvious affect. Incidentally, I don't recall other brands charging for balancing wheels when they rotate them though. I figured it wouldn't hurt. On a side note- how often do you all balance your tires?

Datacom9,
For the sluggish feeling you’re describing I would suggest resetting your ECU. Just pull the negative battery cable and let the car sit or 30 min, or just pull the ECU fuse in the fuse box. When I bought my SC it felt sooo slow, it was previously driven by a 65 year old lady. After resetting the ECU the car came to life.. I was able to light up the tires from a stop with no problem

Anyway, I've found a number of very minor things that were overlooked in the so-called CPO certification process. I doubt that they reset the ECU as standard protocol.
It has been a few days since the service, and there is a definite, non-imagined change in the shifting/torque. The transmission shifts like butter and is much more responsive with absolutely no hesitation. I haven't had the guts (or the need) to go wide open throttle since getting the car back

Which is the ECU fuse? I would like to reset my ECU, but don't want to lose all my phone book and radio presets (call me lazy)...
I think it could be any/all of fuses 72, 73, 74, 75, 83, and/or 85? Can anyone help me out with this?

Low Torque
I was glad to see that someone else mentioned the resetting of the ECU. As I was reading through the post, I knew that is what the problem was. I have done that on every Toyota/Lexus I have owned (7) and always notice a difference. the part to add, is that once you have reset the ECU, I have always been told that the car is learning your driving style and to therefore go out and put your foot in it for about 30 minutes. I do not know that it takes that long for it to learn, but thta is what i have been told. Maybe it is not needed, but I tend to reset the ECU every year just to be safe. it also works to clear a code to get rid of a pesky "Check Engine" light if you have had an issue.

I wil do this, too. I was percepting this... "drag" effect, too, like the e-brake was on. I even pulled the e-brake release and tried lifting up on the pedal thinking it was stuck or something. I just really noticed it this weekend. Will report back with my findings.
