Default How to remove headlight scratches on LS430

Not sure how to describe these. I'll post a picture later today. Large areas on the headlights have become scratched. It definitely feels like the outside surface. How do you polish the plastic to return it to some form of clear luster?

Meguiar's offers 2-3 products for plastics: a cleaner, a polish....
but it helps to have some muscle, like a orbital polisher, for better results.

A good buffer should help you get them off for the most part, with the help of any good polish.

Permatex has a kit, which I found hidden in a drawer at Pep Boys. If the scratches are really bad, it may be the way to go because it actually uses very fine sanding paper (1000 and 1200 grit I think). The Meguirs stuff is what I've always used on the old plastic convertible top windows and aircraft windscreens, but deep scratches may be too much for that approach.

Actually, I lightly used 1500 then 2000 grit sandpaper with wet sanding, then used my orbital with PlastX and it worked great.

Really kicking myself for not taking before and after pictures.
