I just purchased an 03 LS430 Ultra Lux. I was interested in finding out what problems any of you may have had with your vehicles BEFORE they hit 100k miles.

The only real thing I've heard about is the trunk shocks needing to be replaced.

 

mechanically, the stupid O2 sensors tends to crap out, the brakes grunt and belts sqeak when cold. its nothing major, just annoying
inside the ML subs blows easily

 

Controller switch for the driver's side mirror stopped working just before 50K miles on my '03 model. That's it so far (at 53K miles currently).
I guess I'm a poster boy for toyota reliability. Of the 3 cars in my signature, that's the only problem that any of them has had. :knocks on wood:

 

At 49,000 miles, the only problems so far have been the Trunk Shocks, and they were still OK but marginal. My dealer did them just before the warranty expired without any question. I've also got some minor wear on the drivers seat bolster. I'm also still on my original Brake Pads. They are now down to just under 3mm left.

I'm a HAPPY CAMPER. This is the best most satisfying car I have EVER owned.

I had a leaky front shock at 42k miles.

 

3 of my windows have some kind of white film in between the glass that i cant get rid of unless i change the whole entire glass.......

 

I was extremely unlucky, my brake lite was burned at 72,000 miles.
