If you are under warranty you have nothing to lose by taking it to the dealer.
Exactly!

I know I'm late to this thread but have you tried this website.....www.warrantylex.com. I'm considering purchasing a warranty for my '04 and the prices are a little cheaper.

My normal Lexus warranty expires at the end of this month so when I was at the dealer getting my 45k oil change and spoke to the finance lady and said that I had been looking on the internet at lexus extended warranty and wanted to give her a chance to earn my business. She quoted me $1572 for the 7 yr 75k mile and $2100 for the 7 yr 100k platinum extended warranty. I bought the 7 yr 75K since I am only driving about 10k miles a year now. This warranty basically covers anything besides normal wear and tear. Good peace of mind for the very expensive repairs to fix this car. Can't wait to buy my 2008 460l in 2011.

Thumbs up Lexus Platinum warranty...best price

The best price I received on the 6 Yr/100,000 Mi Lexus Platinum for my RX was from Jeff at Lexus of Huntsville. His price was $1265, and Troy Dietrich quoted $1315. I think the warranty costs the dealer $1165, and the list price is $2025. You can shop around to any Lexus dealer to buy the Lexus warranty. I wouldn't pay more than you can get it for from Jeff.
Call Jeff @ Lexus of Huntsville.

Thanks to all who posted here. My local dealership wanted $2400 for 7 year / 75k mile warranty. I was able to get one for $1540 from Call Jeff @ Lexus of Huntsville. His number is 256-824-8050. The transaction was super easy. I talked with him on the phone, he overnighted me the paperwork already completed with a return overnight envelope.

The clincher for me to get the extended warranty was that I had brought my car in to have them fix the cigarette lighter adapter just before my factory warranty expires. The dealership did a check on the car and came up with $1300 in warranty repairs.

Default Extended warranty contacts as of March 2009

I'm updating this thread to try keep a central source for our discount Lexus warranty sources. These people should be able to provide you with a quote if you contact them. The names have been taken from discussions on CL from the last few months.

Troy Greenfield - Toyota of Greenfield. Ph: 413 772 0989
Toby Rivers - Lexus of Shreveport. Ph: 800-335-3987
<Removed Wadette>

They'll likely need your cars details including VIN, mileage, what your current warranty status is (Factory, CPO, Lexus Platinum, etc).

I purchase my Lexus warranty this way and it was a great experience

I've actually found it better to use local maintenance places with high recommendations that aren't Lexus. I don't need my car worked on at a shop with marble floors and techs that charge $100/hr.

I really like the guys at Lexus of Chandler, but for basic maintenance, I've found places that charge much less per hour and the work quality is just as good...

Just my $0.02.

Default Question for Grand LS4 and others

In Grand LS 4's post he added "It extends your factory another 3 years, and 50K. Totaling 7years/100K. But its not ON TOP of the factory's 4 years. You can renew it again so as long as your under 100K."

I have a 2002 LS430 with 85 K on it. The Platinum 7 year (4 + 3) yr warranty expires at the end of this August. Only accessories are sun-roof (rarely used) and heated seats.

Can I purchase another 3 year extended bumper-bumper warranty from Lexus and if so, does it go to only 100k or another 50K miles from the current August 2009 date of expiration.?

And any more suggestions as to where I should purchase this warranty as the prices for the same additional warranty seem to range from $1200+ to $2700 depending on the dealer. Is there a way to post to get dealer bids or must I contact (email) each different dealer?

Car has been regularly serviced at the dealer and currently the only problems seem to be weak trunk struts and the driver's power mirror will not stay properly adjusted. One of my hobbies is detailing so the car is well maintained and garaged.

Or has anyone know of a different reliable extended warranty program (not from Lexus) available at a reasonable cost???

Thanks,
HRP

You can purchase an extended warranty, but the max Lexus will provide is until 100,000 according to my research while looking to purchase a plan for my car.

You'll just have to call a list of dealers to find the best price. Toyota dealer can sell you the same agreement if im not mistaken.

Car has been regularly serviced at the dealer and currently the only problems seem to be weak trunk struts and the driver's power mirror will not stay properly adjusted. One of my hobbies is detailing so the car is well maintained and garaged.
In your case, i strongly suggest against buying the extended warranty as it will not pay for itself. I purchased it for my UL mainly for the air suspension and different guiding sensors that can be costly if they were to break. I have not used it to date by the way. However, I cannot afford the downtime, nor hassle of trying to find the best value oriented to fix the car now a days. Not to mention that i will be going to the dealer to fix most items on the car as many issues are dealer only items.

Or has anyone know of a different reliable extended warranty program (not from Lexus) available at a reasonable cost???
I strongly suggest against buying non-Lexus warranty has they have proven to be more trouble when they are needed as reported by most members.

Default National Warranty Corporation

I bought my 01 LS430 with 51k miles from CA. I bought a warranty from the dealership, but changed my mind when I got the car in Seattle and asked around at the local dealerships to find out who would accept the warranty. One Lexus finance gal recommended to me that I go with National Warranty Corporation since they have exclusionary warranties - ones that list what is not covered, leaving everything else covered. So I got my warranty from Toyota of Lake City (I called National Warranty (based in Oregon) and they told me several dealers to call to get quotes) who charged me just over $2,000 for 4yrs/48k additional coverage with $0 deductible. This was only available for cars up to 7 years old and there was a mileage condition, too - probably 60k. There are different levels of coverage and different cars/mileages will qualify for different ones.

I have had my oxygen sensor and one of my side view mirrors replaced under the warranty with no problem. This has saved me roughly $1,000 already so I'm very happy with it. I'd recommend this company and coverage for anyone buying a used car (they don't cover Ferraris and other upscale brands). You can find a 2002 car with under 60k miles and add 4yr/48k miles to the coverage. In Washington you can even return the warranty after awhile and get a prorated refund back, too!

Thanks JJBodean for the update. I've removed Wadette from my post above, and will also update the FAQ Warranty post as well.

Incidentally I've been using my Extended Warranty in WA state and having an awesome experience with Lexus. And I purchased it from JJ before he left Lexus!

Default Extended Warranty is Great

For my 2002 LS 430 (60k miles) I bought the extended warranty from CountyLine Lexus in Hollywood, Figured it would be a wise investment since i love my car and plan to keep it forever (or until it stops working - which at this rate is another 5+ yrs) This is an amazingly well build car. Anyway, have already used the warranty to replace the sub-woofer system, brake issues, and some other stuff. My local Lexus service department guy was surprised to see i had a warranty....he had never heard of the 100k platinum warranty. But I did and it was in the Lexus computer too.
