Texas does not require anybody (insurance companies, dealers, mechanics, etc) to report claims to Carfax. This is not to say that these entities do not report their claims to Carfax, it is only that they don't have to. As with most businesses, if not required, they won't submit it. Ergo, Carfax is useless in Texas.

Listed here is a 2005 Lexus LS430 Ultra Luxury packaged vehicle. The vehicle has a bit over 30,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, this LS430 was in a garage that caught fire. Reportedly, the structure was hit by lightning in one of our infamous North Texas severe thunderstorms. The car itself was not struck. The car did not actually burn, it did suffer a significant amount of heat though, as if it were in a huge oven. Essentially all of the exterior rubber and plastic items have melted, or are at least severely deformed. All of the glass in the car was cracked by the heat. On a Ultra LS430 they have significantly thicker glass than any other Lexus product. It also has a very thick plastic sheet between the 2 layers of glass, that is the bubbles you are now seeing.

I emailed carfax and after a couple back and forths this one seem to go under the radar. If there is not an accident report only a police report it will not trigger a carfax incident. If this was covered by a homeowners instead of auto insurance again no report on carfax.According to them they do recieve accident data in Texas.Unless this car is titled, and it would have to be before it was fixed to be a salvage title, this one will be a clean paperwork car.Sacry!

I still wouldn't do it though.

Armor all
I looked at all the pics and noticed that they even took time to armor all the tires for the photo shoot. Can you believe this reputable dealer is selling this thing? They should never get involved with salvage cars. Now people are going to wonder what they're getting from Sewell. Right?
