Default Bluetooth Upgradability?

I'm considering getting a 2004-2006 LS430 and was wondering how upgradable the Bluetooth systems on them are. That is, will it likely support new phones like the IPhone? Or, in general, are updates occasionally issued for the bluetooth system to include newer phones?

As long as the phone meets the bluetooth standards, it should work. I believe it only has to be 1.1 compliant.

JS,

I have the 04LS Ultra and the Cingular 8525 or HTC TyTn phone which is not the latest but close (Jan 07) and also my wife's Motorola Razr new May 07 all work fine with no upgrades necessary. The Nav system has a DVD upgrade potential by the dealer that will upgrade the maps and likely the BT version at the same time.

The dealer agreed to update mine to the latest version when it changes - mine was last updated in 05.

If your dealer has agreed to update your nav disk, the newest is Jan 07. You should get the new one from them.

Blutooth is backword compatible. As long as you have a bluetooth 1.1 or above, your good to go. However, you will have better connectivity if you use the newer bluetooth found on newer phones.
