Does anyone have any ideas on where I can find a cheap navigation? My went out. I have had 2 lexus and this is the 2nd I had to repalce. Dealer said $1600 installed. I found a 2001 model on ebay $500.
I alos called Lexus. They said they will get back to me today.

$500 is cheap for a used one, just make sure you get some kind of warranty(30 days, 90days, etc...). I had bought one back in March and it was not a working unit so I returned it. Forturnaly my old one worked again after all those plug and unpluging. Dealer told me they needed to order one and it would take 2 weeks and YES it is $1600.

What year is the car,is this a common problem, just bought 2002,and was not expecting to have to replace that item

I think it was my fault. I was in the hidden screen and pressed upload new DVD that I had bought as a copy for $40. I dont think the copies can hadle the heat and it froze. The dealer said I was stuck. I called Lexus they are going to get back to me tomorrow. I think they will assist in the cost.

If i were you, i would get a +04 ECU, simply because its a gen 4 navi, with much more features.

If you cant, at least get a +02 ECU as it its a 3rd gen navi.


But im curious, how did the old dvd freeze? did it melt or something?


sigers - this is not a common problem at all... very rare... dont worry.

to be honest I had a copy and in 110 degree weather I think that happens? The map screen froze?
