brake wear message
hi i am new to this forum, but i am in need of some help with my 03 ls430. the brake warning message keeps coming on in the dash. i had to replace the back brake pads because they were wearing on the low side. i replaced them already and i thought that the warning message would go away if you replaced the pads. is it possible to reset the message light on the dash by my self through the navi? or do i have to go to the dealer to do this. your help is greatly appreciated. thank you.

thank you very much for your help in this matter. sorry i wish it was as simple as releasing the emergency brake handle, but its not.
i finally got a hold of my friend at lexus and he told me the same thing. once the sensor grounds out on the rotor and wears into it you must replace the sensor with a new one.
its too bad that its not something that you can reset like say maybe an air filter or something like that.
well i guess that i have to buy another one. thank you for helping me out in this matter.

But if yoru talking about another brake wear message, then changing, or soldiering the contacts is your only way.

I also have this same problem in my '03 LS430. I changed my brakes, and the "brake wear" message will not go away. I even tried a code reader that a coworker had, and it did not work. I will try to solder my existing sensor to see if the message will go away. thanks.

i dont know of anywhere that might have it cheaper, but all i did to resolve my problem was to put some solder on the sensor and it fixed my light situation. when my brakes get down to the sensor again, the solder will just fall off and let me know when to replace my brakes again and to resolder the sensor.

I just bought mine for the front and rear for $127 out the door. Use the CLUBLEXUS coupon code if it'll still work.
