Default All LS's California Smog Ready?

Can some of you out of california owners check on something for me?
I want to find out if all LS's are legal for use in California in case I decide to purchase out of state. Here is the info that the Ca DMV says to look for

##############
Check the Label

To find out whether a car or truck is California Certified, check the emission label under the hood. For a motorcycle check the headset or frame. The label should read that the vehicle conforms to California regulations, or that it is legal for sale in California.

i know this requires going out side to your car, and looking around the door frames and under the hood, but I would apprecaite it!

My 01' is 50 states legal and it's TX local sold, so I would think ALL YEARS' LS are CA. legal as well.

On a used vehicle the state of California can not require California emissions. They were required about 5 or 6 years ago to refund all the money they took from people who registered out of state used vehicles ($300). I got mine back for two different cars. I think the vehicle must have over 7,500 miles. They will collect taxes on the sales price no matter where it is purchased.

interesting...i read right past the "new" clause on the DMV's website.

Thank you for the info. With the two cars you brought to CA, where you already a resident living here for a while then purchase the cars, or did you move here and bring them with you?

I'm sure it would be California ready, because isn't one of the draws of the LS is that it's an "ULEV" - Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle?

I have done both. The two I got the money back on I brought with me. I have bought another since then and just paid my sales tax and moved on. None of these vehicles had California emissions.
