Default Warranty Question: Steering Wheel

Just a question, I have some unusual wear on the Leather part of my Steering Wheel. It looks as though it was kinda peeling and fading, right were my left thumb would grab the wheel. Do you guys think this would be covered under warranty for unusual wear?

It probably should be but the dealership might be critical and say it was caused through normal wear and tear. I'd try though if you live near a dealerhsip.

Don't know about Lexus but with my MB and Audi they replaced the center armrest(Audi) and the shift ****(MB) under warranty even they were wear items. Try and see if they would honor it. My friend's 05' LS had some part of carpet wore out(the center part of the tunnel between the rear seat) and they warrantied it.

It's worth a shot I guess. I'll try it at my next service visit, which is at 50k.
