First drive with "MoonShadow".... I found MoonShadow on craigslist in Irvine CA. After a few days of communicating with "Rocky" we agreed on a price and I flew down to see the car. Rocky meets me wearing a white wife beater, a gold Rolex and dark sunglasses, we hit it off. He is selling the car for his cousin, a old school CEO type who used this as his chauffeur car in LA for 20+. He hands me a stack of paperwork with - I kid you not - years of dealer service records and single ownership. Love at first test drive. This car is so smooth, the turning radius is unmatched, the heated and cooled seats, Mark Levinson stereo, etc make this the best car I have ever owned. But you already knew that. I was sold - handed over the cash in a Chilis parking lot, got a milkshake and drove the car 500 miles home.
My new to me 2002 LS430. I bought her on monday for $2500 with 92k miles from a estate sale. Spiritual successor to my beloved '97 LS400 which I sold over a year ago.
She's got a few major things to address (trans.fluid maintenance, timing service, front wheel bearings) but she's already looking to be my best purchase overall.
Beautiful. Wi, th the gloss black wheels and tires, painting the calipers would really make the whole car pop...
Damn, yeah, the calipers.
Just today finished the grill redo, the pix were before and clay bared her as well. Man, clay bars are the best! Dang near fell off the side of her when leaned upon.
Finally... someone put Wald Streifen's on our cars. I was eyeing these but just kept things simple with some Enkei's.
They look KILLER, man. For some reason, Streifen's are my favorite five-spoke wheels, glad to see them done right.

Thanks! I knew I wanted them a few years ago when I first saw them. I love the simple, classic 5-spoke design in the 3-piece profile so it has the extra hardware features. I think I will rebuild them in the future to get a little more lip out of them, and maybe run staggered for some extra dish in the rear.
