Default Help needed with 17" wheels

Please tell me what I am up against with the following wheel specs. Will I need to use spacers (would prefer not to), will it be properly aligned with my fenders? (Don't want steering pulls), and what does the x7.5 signify as it relates to size? I absolutely love these wheels and hope the specs are applicable.

Size: 17X7
Finshed: Painted center with machined lip
Offset: +42
Backspacing: 5 5/8
Available lug patterns:
5X110
5X100
5X4.5

The OEM wheel specs are
Size: 17x7.5
Offset: +45
Bolt pattern: 5x114.3

I choose to stay with 17s because I like more rubber between the road and my wheels which facilitates a smoother less bumpy ride.

Thanks for your input.

I went with 18 inch wheels and wraped them in Yokohama Advan 4's and i feel like im driving on the 16's that i got the car with smooth and relaxing. I truly belive the key to a nice ride is tires.

Are you saying you used these wheels, and if so was the specs the same as discribed, or are make apoint about going to 18's?

You need to have the same bolt pattern as the OEM wheel for they to fit first.
You need to have wheels that would clear the front brake caliper second.
Normally people go wider when purchase aftermarket wheels, so if you go for 8" width you can still use the OEM size tires. But if 17" felt bumpy to you then you might want to look into 16" wheels to get a more compliance ride.

Odds are those wheels won't fit because of the front caliper clearance. The LS has huge front calipers which most wheels won't clear. With a 17" wheel you can forget about getting a wheel with any kind of a lip on it. Choose something conservative and stock looking, like the factory 17" wheels (not sure why you just dont use them, but whatever), if you go with something sporty it will look retarded because they're only 17" wheels. The offset of those wheels is fine. "7.5" refers to the rim width, don't go with a narrower rim, get something at least as wide as stock wheels. The bolt pattern is correct at 5x4.5", which is also 5x114.3mm. Even though its hard to find wheels, don't relegate yourself to using a spacer, it's just not the "right" way to do it, you can open up a whole new can of worms doing that.

Thank you all for your input, and helping me to better understand the numbers. As it stands I really like this wheel and is now leaning towards the 18" which better compliment the OEM specs. I will use Photoshop to get an idea of how they will look on the car, which I will post for your opinion. As we all know the LS leave’s very little room for acceptable enhancements, and so I approach with caution. Thanks again.

sidewall height and sidewall stiffness are factors affecting ride quality.
high performance tires have stiff sidewalls which sharpen turning response at the expense of a smoother ride....
YMMV
