I was wondering if you guys know what happen? All day long my navigation was working, then later on this evening, it just popped up and said no disc detected? Do you guys know what that means? I mean I didn't mess w/ nothing at all, just got in the car and drove it. Does it mean its needing a new update? Please help . Thanks

you could try taking the disc out and pop it back in or taking the negative battery cables off overnight. I dont know if this will work, but its something I would do in your case

You need to reset your Nav ECU in the trunck. Take the Nav. disc out, unplug the connectors from the back of the ECU. Wait 10-15 min. then reconnect, load the Nav. disc and it should reset it. Secure the ECU back to the bracket before you start up the car so you won't shake the ECU while it is reading and you are trying to put it back to the bracket.

When you first turn on the car. The screen will pop out some Japenese and about 15 seconds later it should be nomal again...Hope this helps...

Never happened to mine.

May be helpful - posted some pics on updating the nav disk that may help you find where things are.

Ok I came home and did what you said, no go, it didn't work. I saw a few spots on the dvd itself wiped it...put it back in. And still no go. I saw the japanese words, and right underneath it, it said: system updating, and still didn't go through. This really sux, I have no idea what happen, this just came out of no where. Could it be the lens inside? Should I go and buy one of those lens cleaners? Do you guys think that might help?

all the second generation navi players are going bad. the lasers on that unit only work about 5 to 6 years. i would not replace it with the same model even if the dealer says you have too. its not true that you cant update the computer to third ot 4th genration computers. i would replace it with a 2003 third generation computer as they arnt going out like the second genration denso computers. you could even use a 4th generation computer even though it uses a different series of dvd maps. the 2nd and the thirds use the same maps . some 2006 and all 2007 lexus have moved on to 5th genration computers which are no longer compatible with the wiring of the 2nd 3rd and 4th generation denso computers. they still use a dvd map except for the ls460 which is back to a hard drive which is touted as being faster than dvd map readers also they will be able to utilize future real time traffic systems better. the japanese unitas already have this feature.
