What about Transmission and Fuel Pump on 04 LS430's
I have seen that the 04 LS430's had a Lexus Recall on the Transmission and Fuel Pump. If the car is still under 50,000 miles then this should still be covered? Also, I am talking to a dealer that has a car that I like in Chicago area - they are not a Lexus dealer. Should I just get the car and then have my local Lexus shop cover this or make sure it is done before I get it? Thanks again.

Little different question
How many with an 04 have had the Transmission and fuel pump replaced under the recall. Also if you have or have not had it addressed have you had any problems with it?

Mine was done in early 2004 (I got the car about Xmas 2003). It's been fine ever since. I would almost bet that every car was done. If yours was not I suspect it still can be done.

Not every '04 LS430 needs either of these. They only applies to a fairly limited number of early production VIN's.
By all means have it checked out, but don't be surprised if you are told that you don't need them.
