Hella old school bump lol... I remember coming across this thread back in 2011 but it took me awhile to hunt it down.
The other night I purposely nicked the underneath portion towards a far corner to see if there was chrome... there is on mine so im going to give this a shot soon. If so... all LS430s would have the same here.
Anyone try it on 04-06 yet? Did I miss another thread with more recent updates? I'm going for it unless someone has with not so great results.

My only concern is that the chrome is more of an Avalon type thing and not so much Lexus...
Or, it's just me...

Just my opinion... it doesn't look terrible on a white LS(it actually works), but I can see why they thought it'd look better painted in general(black LS). If I was forced to, I'd roll with it. More chrome is only an upgrade in certain parts of town, IMO...

Bumping an old thread here! My trunk trim randomly started chipping away despite my car being garaged most of my time owning it. Nothing scratched it either but now I’m missing a huge chunk of paint and figured I’d
remove the rest of the paint.
Has anyone ever repainted the trim? I had thought about wrapping it in carbon fiber as well later on.
