toyota navi sux
sorry for the complain on the first post. My parents just got 05 LS430 with nav, little under 30k miles with Lexus extended warranty
ANYHOW, I was trying to setup the nav for the bluetooth and home address and it took me like an HOUR!(exxageration of course) I can not believe how difficult it was to go through the options and voice recognition doesn't allow for many things to be "said" Even the screen looks CHEAP for the high end car
ON the other hand, our 04 MDX with nav is SUPER easy to use, extremely user friendly as far as setup and usage(everything) and TONS more voice recognition verbage...
I just want to say Toyota needs better user interface on the navi's cuz it sux
HONDA>TOYOTA in navi
will post pix once this rain stops(we haven't had rain in like 4 months lol)

Welcome to CL, the LS 430 NAVI IMO is pretty good, of course the higher-res one on the LS 460 is even better. I agree that the Acura system is one of the better ones on the market as well. Hope you and your family enjoy the car.

But never made any claims to own one... I recently attended the Taste of Lexus event and sat in the LS460/600hL and wish i have not. Now every time I look at my Navi screen, i feel like I'm looking at an Atari game
However, subjectivly, Acura and Toyota make the best Navi's. Some will perfer the Acura's, and others Toyota, but I never yet seen someone praise the MB, or Audi interface.
Touch screen > **** control.

I agree. I have a 00 S500 as well as an 01 LS430 and I dont even use the navi in the mercedes because it is so user unfriendly and impractical.

The new HD nav is really nice. As far as ease of use, its about the same as my LS430. I drove a new RX400h that has the newer nav.
Also, I think the nicest looking nav is the new Infiniti M45. You can choose from 3D maps as well. Very nice. Seem complicated to use though. It is a co-workers car.

everything seems complicated at first, but after awhile, it becomes second nature (I used to have the iDrive which is considered most difficult). If you don't drive the car/ use the navi often, it will seem complicated... especailly when you (05LS430) don't OWN the car... but the Acura navi's are decent too.
