0-20W oil or 5W-30 oil for 2005 LS 430?
Somewhere I recall that Lexus changed oil specifications in 2007 and now recommends 0-20 weight oil and that the change was retroactive to 2004 and later Lexus LS models. Can anyone confirm this?

Wouldn't really matter. Unless you live in a colder climate, for instance, Alaska, just stick with either 10-30 or 5-30.

stick with the 5/30! 0/20 is too thin. 0/20 is for the Ls460 in synthetic.

I've heard some info about Toyota changing the recommeded fluid, but not from any authentic source.
I'd stick with 5-30 until reaching 100K, then use 10-30. Then stick to 5-30 during the winter months.
If you live in a warm Climate where it never reaches 32F, and gets hot in the summer (florida) i'd stick with 10-30 year round.

Use what the manual calls for, so 5W-30.

My dealer uses 5w30 but it is "semi-synthentic"....or so the service writer said. Is there any problem in switching from standard oil to Mobil 1 synthentic?

This is a full synthetic oil isn't it? Have you experienced any leaks or seeping?

Leaky seals with full synthetics are a thing of the past, back when these oils were still being perfected.

I currently use Mobil 7500, but will switch to the Mobil 1 5-30 this weekend. Thanks for your response.
