My 2001 LS430 windshield wipers looks higher than normal.. Is it on the snow settings and have to be pushed down? I read the GS and ES wipers have 2 setting to set the wipers height. How do I lower it to normal height? Someone mentioned to push down the passengers side wipers down hard and both wipers will be lowered. Is this how it is done. Let me know before I try and also so I don't break something.

I've read, and used that info on the GS, and ES models before, but I havent ever tried it with the LS.

little off the subject, but isn't the two different size wipers really gay... the passenger side wiper is really small, looks really funny... and the wipers don't go all the way down like my MB or BMW

 

Actually, having unequal wipers ensures the same area isn't wiped twice, after it has been already wiped. This slows down the wiper, and is inefficient. Not to mention, creates a triangle thats been "over wiped".

 

I agree with you on the efficiency, because the Lexus wipers are much quieter than my MB and BMW... it just looks kinda gay to me, thats all...

 

Let me know if this is normal height. I tried pushing it down but I did not work. I did not see any winter settings in my user manual for the wiper height. Maybe it is normal for the 2001 LS430 models. My 2000 GS300 wipers hides down low. I attached a pic to view.

thats same as mine... it should be lower... i think my gs4 was even lower than my LS4

Does your passesnger side wipers have that bend in the arm as mines does? It looks to be about 2 inches higher than yours and not hidden at all.

I was told by my mechanic that there is no "Winter" setting the wipers on the LS430. My previous car was an ES300, and there were two settings, but that isn't the case on the 430. Mine sit too high - I think - but then again, if they were too low, then they would get snow encrusted.

Im gonna check on that today. But I did check previously, and found that the LS does NOT have a WINTER mode as i thought previously.
