Lowering Suspension on LS430
I have an 04 LS430 that does not have the air suspension like in the ultra luxury package.
I would like to lower the vehicle 1.5 - 2 inches and wanted to know what is the best way to do so. Has anyone installed springs only which resulted in a 1.5 - 2 inch lowered stance? Is so, please indicate what brand of springs and the price.
If springs only are not available for the LS430, then maybe I will have to go with a coil over setup. Any brand recomendations? How much does this set up cost including installation?

I have the UCF30/31 magazine and according to that "bible" there are a crap load of drop springs and coilovers for our cars.
Not sure if any drop springs will get you lower than 1.5-1.75".
As far as coilovers, I have Tein CS in my LS and I like it. The ride is pretty close to stock (max drop: 2.2" front, 1.9" rear). As far as cost on these, there fairly cheap compared to other brands out there (infact one of the cheapest ones) but good quality. I think these run for around $1400-1600. I know they had a group by on these a while back on this forum. As far as ride quality and cost are concerned, the Tein CS would be your best bet.
If you want to go the spring route, you can pick up a simple 1" drop spring and also pick up a set of Junction Produce SS kit or Youzealand SS kit. Basically there are drop brackets and will add an extra 1-1.5" of drop (total of 2-2.5" drop). Only problem is this setup is non-adjustable.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. What year is your LS? How much does it cost to install the springs and the ss kit as a set and how much to install just the coilovers? When you say that you can adjust the suspension with the coilovers, do you mean that you can adjust the stiffness or the height or both?

My LS430 is a 2004. Not sure on how much installaion cost as I normally do my own installs (I'm a auto tech).
With coilovers you are able to adjust the ride height and in most cases the stiffness of the struts. With drop springs mounted to your stock struts, you have no adjustment.

I am not 100% sure but there are 2 company's that sell a SS drop kit: Youzealand and Junction Produce. They have 2 kits each: SS and SS pro (SS consists of just the brackets and hardware, SS Pro consists of brand new lower ball joints, brackets and hardware). Either one you get does the same thing and drops the same amount. The SS normal runs about $500 while the Pro kit runs about $800. Btw, my friend (Sessionsusa on vipstylecars) can bring in those kits as well.

On a side note: anyone looking for a magazine which showcases the multitude of parts for UCF30/31's. And look for a magazine strictly for the LS430's, the magazine I mentioned above is a must have.
I wish I could just scan it and download it for you all but that would take forever and a day.
