Was there a repair report associated with the accident?
Is the parking sensor actually damaged (i.e., what happens when the sensors are activated?) Last year, I was driving on the highway when a pickup in front of me blew a tire, and one of the tire shreds hit my front bumper exactly on one of the sensors and took it right off.
I'm sure I still have the invoice around here somewhere, I'll check for it tomorrow.

I've found price varies based on what city you live in, and availability of cars around you. If you want to find out what your car is selling for, spend an hour going through Craiglist of your city and adjoining cities, and also check auto trader, etc.

leased cars=usually not taken care of.
accident=no matter what,(shows in carfax or not) brings the value down. For me, I never purchase any cars that ever has had paintwork done. It's not worth getting a car for a grand or two cheaper when i know it's been painted before.
to be on topic, since it's been hit before and was a lease, I wouldn't pay any more than $21k for it. Again, I would rather buy an immaculate car that's never been painted before by paying the right price.
Hope this helps,
JP

Before I bought the car, I was able to verify that all service had been done by the leasing Lexus dealer, that TSIBs had been applied and meet the person who leased the car when it was new. He didn't seem like the type of person who would have abused a car.
But the 60,000 mile off lease car which is the subject here sounds like a different situation. The main value of buying a used leased vehicle is that they are normally well within warranty, usually have less than 36K miles, and are "young enough" to be in like new condition. Could this 60K car have been on its 2nd lease?
Many people would be surprised at how much touchup painting is done at Lexus dealerships. A local guy who has done paintwork for us ran a business named (humorously) "Picasso's" who made his living doing some pretty major paint touchup on high end cars for dealers including the local Lexus dealer. And even brand new cars are frequently partially repainted at ports of entry before they are shipped to dealerships.
Based on my experiences in buying a new LS400 in 1990 and my off-lease 2000 LS400 in 2003, I would certainly buy another low mileage off-lease LS.
But a 60K off lease vehicle sounds a fishy.

I tend to differ when it comes to buying an off-lease car - especially an LS. The 2000 LS400 I bought in 2003 had just come off a 3 yr/36K lease and was in wonderful condition. I've since driven it another 60,000 trouble free miles.

I had one of my front sensors replaced a while back & the dealer said the cost would have been about $500. if it hadn't been under warranty. I think he said $300 for the sensor.
