Took care of this yesterday. Thanks to the OP. The instructions were perfect. 30 minutes later, the lid works as it should.

Did the fix and works like new now.
BTW thanks to all of you who post how tos and take the time to help fellow members.
With all the cars ive had over the years i have saved thousands of dollars in repairs and alternatives to the dealer *****ery.
This latest fix saved me $900.. And it only cost me NOTHING.
Thanks guys. I will try to pay it forward and hope i can contribute when i can.

Ditto, thanks for the write up, everything went super smooth, two screws had backed out completely, two were pretty loose. It was only when I was trying to reinstall the console that I ran into issues, the connector to the back harness kept falling under the console so it wouldn't seat properly. After revisiting this thread and reading about someone with the same problem, I held the cable tight against the front of the box when dropping it back in and it all went together perfectly.

Thanks to all!

Thanks to all the previous posters. 😁
Just did mine. 40 mins and the only difficult bit is those damned connectors.
I'm a big guy and I really struggled to get my arm far enough in to release and reconnect the 2 connectors.
I put a blob of RTV on each screw which should prevent them from vibrating loose again.
Got it all done in the end and now have a firm, squeek free armrest.

Completed this repair yesterday. Piece of cake. One screw out, other 3 loose.

Now I have to get used to gently closing the lid vs slamming and pushing forward with my forearm.

I did this fix a month ago with the help of this thread as well. I tightened the screws back on hard enough that they would never come off again. Probably should have used loctite, but oh well. This is a great thread for this issue!

Just used the directions to fix my center console, worked like a charm! Took me about 35 mins, every single screw for the hinges had fallen out and one was laying in the bottom of the well near the air vents. So nice to have a working lid again!

I am so glad I found this post.. I was able to remove my armrest, removed all the black tiny screws, separated the leather & the housing..examined the main 2 hinges on the lid, held on to the main housing.. all the 4 golden-colored bolts/screws has fallen out. Does anyone has a picture of how to put back the 4 golden-color screws?
Thank you..

Hi 2KHarrier, Thanks for the prompt reply. I did read cyclehead previous post... I was able to completely take out the center armrest. I found the 4 golden-colored screws have completely fallen off. I am trying to put these 4 golden-colored screws back on but I have no idea where on the two black hinges... there are no holes on the black hinges..
Thanks.
