Default Hello! Questions on wheel and suspension :/

First off.. i would like to say hello to everyone
I own a LS430 2003 UL edition and have a few questions for the experts out there. I love this car but the ride quality is questionable. I have the UL air suspension and it's quite sluggish(?) feels like the car body is rolling around everywhere. Will upgrading the stock rims 17-->18 help at all in this situation? I've also considered just changing the springs but the people here (in korea) tells me that that might cause some sort of suspension problems with this car. PLEASE HELP ME OUT ASAP!!

Hello there!

I assume you are Korean, since you are in Korea. I am Korean as well!

imo, changing to stock 18's will give you that more road feeling and harshier ride when going through bumps, but the suspension won't change at all(dampening, body roll, and etc....)

Your ride has a air suspension since you have a UL. I would suggest you to get a datasystems air ride controller and lower the car with it and adjust the dampening to how you like it(stiffer I assume since you want a firmer ride with less body roll) Since you are in Korea, it will be really easy to get a hold of one there or Japan and have one shipped.

Hope this helps,
JP

werddd hello fellow korean
so that's all I have to do to get rid of the roll??
will the controller allow me to adjust the damper as well?? i thought it only controlled the ride height :/
also what would be the optimum stagger size if i'm goin to 18's?
thanks a lot! very much appreciated

That won't change body roll much either. I lowered mine so that the exhaust was almost scrapping on the ground, but still when going through winding roads or when going over undulating roads at speed I would still have the same thing happen. Air suspension in the 430's are just not sporty unfortunately.

If you REALLY need to stiffen up the ride with less bodyroll, I would take out the air suspension and install aftermarket set of coilovers.

Tein CS is what I recommend.

Well you could go with the air suspension lowering controler, but all it does is control the height, wheel travel will be the same so when cornering you will still see the same affect. At low speeds you might see a small difference.
