The difference between a 2001-03 LS 430 & a 2004-05 LS 430?
Does anyone know what the difference is between the 2001-03 and the 2004-2005 LS 430?
Would the headlight assembly(with the HID projectors) from a 2004-05 LS 430 fit on the 2001-03 LS 430?

Hey Danny,
First - welcome.
Second - I personally think it's worth it to find an LS with the projector headlights vs the non projector years.
As far as going with the older car and then doing the conversion - one CL member has gone that path and reported it is not worth it.

Go with the 04+ if you want the projector style headlights. They are coming down in price pretty quickly since the new LS460 is such a huge improvement in technology/style/etc...
For example - my buddy bought a 2005 ls430 last year with really low mileage for 52k. was it worth it? Not in my book since this past month I found a clean and accident free 2007 LS460 with 10k miles for 53k... hope that puts things into perspective.

Hey thanks for the info. I will definitely aim for the 2004-05 model. If I can't seem to find a good deal on the 04-05 and somehow end up with the 2001-03 model, then I have my buddy do a HID retrofit for me....I paid him $100 to do one for me before, and it turned out great. I know a pair of those 2004-05 HID projectors w/shrouds are going for $300 used from a wrecked LS430.
This is what my retrofit looks like....Acura TSX projectors with Mercedes E55 shrouds....
Before HID retrofit.....

BTW, this black Prelude is is not my car. This is someone else's car. But he and I have the same chrome shrouds. He went with the E55 Bixenon projectors. I went with the TSX projectors, which actually performs much better. This picture gives you an idea of what my HID retrofit looks like from a different angle.
