Default Bluetooth Connection

I have a 2004 LS430 and a Verizon Wireless Blackberry 8703e. I have been experiencing problems in connecting the Blackberry to the car. It seems to connect just fine but it often loses and restores the connection frequently.

I can make a call in the car using the Bluetooth and then hang up and try to make another call and then the Bluetooth connection will be lost. I will then end up using the handset to make the call and then 30 seconds later, the Bluetooth connection will be re-established and I can talk over the car's speaker system.

Has anyone else experienced this same problem? Is the problem with the phone or with the car's compatibility? If the problem is with the car, can a software upgrade correct the problem.

I drove a 2008 ES350 and the Bluetooth connection worked flawlessly, so maybe it is just because my car is too old to be compatible with this phone. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

That happened to me before on my Tmobile Blackberry Pearl when I first got the car but now, its been working pretty flawless. Even that empty air silence between dialing and connection is gone. Not sure what happened as I did not tweak it or anything, it just fixed itself somehow. Sorry no real answer.

check the visibility to trusted devices in the phone itself, sometimes that could cause such issues!! i have a blackberry pearl from t-mobile....works flawlessly in my car!!
