Default LS430 strange driving characteristics

I always noticed that my LS430 wants to “go fast” after a turn. You can also hear the engine get a little louder too. I think this driving characteristic is very annoying. Has any else experience this problem. I hope it’s not transmission related…

Do you mean a sharp turn or a sweeping turn? I often have this effect - it's caused by pressing the accelerator to get back up to speed.

after slowing down to turn the car downshifts, when you step on the gas to get back to speed the car is in a lower gear causing it to rev up, my car does the same thing and every LS i owned before did the same exact thing!!

My firend's 05 LS430 had some issue that when accelerate, the car will pause for 1 second and then it will jump off. Very annoying, so he taken to dealer 3 times and they finally found out it was a faulty acceleration sensor or something, and it was covered under warranty and the invoice came out to be 2000!
Hope you won't have this problem.

KILLERGS4, I am with JDMUSCLE on this one, the car downshifted after a turn, making it accelerate harder when you get back on the gas, the higher rpm make more noise.....etc.

Leave the transmission setting in "normal" to make it less responsive is my advice.

As long as it isn't just my LS doing this, I guess I'm alright with it... I driven so many other cars (GS400, SC400, ES300) and none has this characteristic. Kinda strange IMO... So normal setting would be better for this issue.

Now after I gave it some thought, I think I know what is giving you the strange feeling.

The latest advance computer logics are making the tranny smarter and smarter, the newer the cars, they stranger they feel. I remember the first time I drive the 06' GS430, the IS350, LS460, they feels really strange because they downshift when you slow down, hold gear when you want it to.....the tranny is just really smart, I didn't like it at first, but love them after I get used to them and know what it is doing. The older cars you mention....GS400, SC400, ES300, still act like the older cars, they only downshift when you give it gas.....etc.

In my opinion the LS430 are somewhere between the older and newer cars. The LS430's tranny are the smartest last generation cars, but obviously not as advance as the newest cars. I believe the strange feeling you have with the car's bahavior is from the car's smart transmission that downshift for you after a corner.

explanation sounds good enough, but I don't like it when my wife is saying "take corners slower" and I tell her it's not me... I guess she can't feel it when she drives, only when she's the passenger..
