I don't think it bottomed out, there were threads left.
Believe me, it was Tein CS, and it goes that low.
Other Tein CS setups didn't look that low, probably because the owners choose not to set it that low. Some areas in the US don't have the smoothest road, and driving that low, especially in the Midwest, was CHALLENGING. I'm happy I've been back to stock.

I have an 04 LS430 with only 16,000 miles. I was thinking of just installing Tanabe Sustec NF210 lowering springs instead of coilovers. Has anyone had any experience with just installing springs instead of coilovers to lower the vehicle about 1 inch.
I want to minimize the gap in my fender when I install my rims but do not want to sacrifice ride quality.

was it comfortable ? did it bottom out easy on bumps ? was it challenging because of rubbing issues of the front bumper ? or because of it being too bouncy and uncomfortable ?
also just to clarify, u don't have any additional Youzealand lowering modules right ?

Not sure what you mean by Youzealand, so I'm sure I did not have it.
Actually, at the softest setting and with the stock tires, it was even smoother than stock shocks & springs. What killed the ride DEFITINITELY was the combo of 20" and Toyo Proxes. The Toyo was also loud as hell.
I love my car enough that I drove like a snail, especially if I had to drive over bumps. Mostly I zig-zagged to avoid potholes, and other ppl would think I was drunk.
Rubbing was solved by rolling the fenders. With Tein, I wouldn't call it bouncy. American cars = bouncy. It wasn't like that at all. Unfomcortable... well, with any mods, there'd be tradeoffs... it was uncomfortable enough for me that I switched back to stock after 1 year. Also, the car started to develop rattles... which also forced me to go back to stock, and thank God, it's been 4 years of smooth & quiet ride since.
