i was thinking about putting maybe a clifford or viper alarm system with automatic start,
any of you have it on your ls430's?

mine is a 2001 and i want an automatic start but im not sure if aftermarket is a good idea on the lexus,
please tell me what you think.

THANKS!

It's fine,

If you have the fob key less entry it will not work after you press the auto start. When you turn the car off it will automatically allow your fob to start again. Lexus of Norwood can answer your questions 508-668-5600. there is little talk on this forum in regards to remote starts.

good luck,

i was told that because the key has a chip inside of it that they would have to break one of my keys to use the chip so the car could start in the automatic start remote, would i still need a key with a chip inside since the car has already started?

I don't think so. Call the number and ask, whether your going to use them or not, they'll give you good advise.

In my wife's Sequoia they did need a key though. For us it was worth it because of the cold winters w/ kids. Just have them order another key, if in the budget.
