Question Looking for a 04-06 LS (Currently drive Evo)

Hi all,

I currently drive an 06 EVO SE and am in the market for a 04-06 LS. I love the design, so clean and simple. I have had two Lexus' in the past. An 01 IS300, and an 05 IS300 Turbo. I am definitely looking to come back to Lexus as I want more of a comfortable car. I am getting tired of the Evo's stiffness. I was thinking of a brand new GS but I like the design of the LS much more. I just have a few questions which I did a search for and cannot find anything on:

What are the differences from 04-06?

Is there anything that can be done with the wood interior? I am looking for gray or black interior but hate the wood. Is there any black wood kits or anything else to substitute the regular wood for?

I had lsportline front bumpers both on my 01 and on my 05 IS300's. Are they still around? Cant find any info on them and their bumpers looked really clean and nice.

I would definitely go with Coilovers (Tein) and swaybars. I see there are braces made by Tom's but no sway bars I can find. Does anyone in fact make bigger sway bars for the car to decrease the roll?

White on black combo will be very hard to find?

From what I have read, I see there is the Modern Luxury trim line, Custom, and Ultra. Only the UL comes with Air ride correct? I definitely DO NOT want the air ride. What is the difference between Modern and Custom luxury lines?

Can I find a low mileage (20k miles) 06 for about $40k certified from a Lexus dealer?

I know, too many questions! but need all the answers I can get.

Thanks again

no changes from 04 to 06... you probably want Modern Lux w/
Sport Package with Polished-Finish Alloy Wheels
- Euro-tuned Sport Suspension
- 18-in polished-finish alloy wheels with P245/45R18 tires

I haven't seen any mods for the wood in the LS, except maybe extra wood per WALD. (this car isn't sporty enough to pull any carbon fiber or aluminum inserts IMO)

Regarding the LS 430, I believe the style of this model works great with some racing inspiration. It's just takes some out of the box thinking. Regarding the interior, I don't see them too often but you can get the wood grain in Birdseye which is a dark grey. Very classy and sporty at the same time. Also, there are a few manufacturers that can take your existing wood grain and overlay brushed aluminum or carbon fiber if you prefer. (Should be easy to find in SoCal) If money isn't an object (we are Lexus owners are we not?) then you can probably have the wood grain re-done to your taste. I just recently purchased an LS 430 and I'm in the process of making it race ready. I'm keeping it pretty clean but also very aggressive. The ride is plush and the powertrain is a great start. Tom's Racing has lot's of "go power" products to choose from. You can see most of it at "L-tunedparts.com" Hope that gives you some good direction. Of course, this is just my opinion. Not everyone may agree, but it all depends on what you like. That seems to be the battlecry here.

LOL I agree that the car can support a more performance-oriented treatment. I'm probably the only one with wheels like Volk LE37s on my LS.
