Stock 18" wheels??
I just purchased a 2004 LS430 w/18" wheel option. Can I fit 16" IS300 wheels on it? (Found these with snow tires all mounted and ready to go!). I believe the bolt pattern is the same... any problems between the 18" and 16" difference?'

I'm afraid i didn't make myself clear... i live in New England and want an extra set of wheels to mount snows on! I saw some 16" rims with tires for sale and wondered if they would fit. I don't to ruin the nice 18" with our salty winters here!!!

Come one everyone....it's not like he said those will be his permanent wheels.
It is hard to pass up on something real cheap so it can get beat up on.
It's temporary for the snow-us CA guys don't have this issue.
Like what mikevanle said, it won't clear the front brakes. BTW, stock IS are 17s.
mlymburner-if you want some cheap wheels, you might have to look into the 01-03 LS 16" stock wheels. If those brakes are the same as the 04-06, then those will clear the brakes

Thanks for the info GS3Tek!!! ....and thanks for understanding!!! I didn't realize i was breaking some kind of rules!!
I owned a 93 ls for 15 years and used snows on cheaper rims... my 'summer' rims were in perfect condition when i sold it... not to mention that all you have to do in the late fall early spring is change the wheels!!! No tire mounting or balanancing.

There's no rule breaking here. We tend to make sure that the luxury of the LS doesn't go down the toilet too fast
It's the aesthetics that we sometimes get caught up so we tend to forget the functionality.
The large front brake caliper is a major issue when it comes to putting on different rims and it can be a costly mistake.

I had 2 IS300 before, if you talking about the 1st GEN, no the wheels will not fit, not talking about ofset, they will not clear the big brake! Even the 17' won't fit, 16' will not even clear the diameter of the brake discs.
the 18' ISX50 wheels will, but it will make no sense since you need snow tires.

If you want to use 16" wheels on your car, yes you can do it, BUT only these:
1995-1997 LS400
1998-2000 LS400
2001-2003 LS430
All are 16" x 7" with a 45mm offset. Anything with a 50mm offset will hit the front caliper (1994 and older LS and all other Lexus 16" wheels).
I'm a wheel dork
I was personally running 1998 LS400 wheels on my 2004 for a couple of weeks.
