Anyone know how to reset/remove cruise control system warning?
Anyone know how to reset/remove cruise control system warning?
The "Check PCS System" warning turned on the other day. Is there a way to reset? I have cleaned the plastic cover on the grill and radar housing but the warning light is still on.
I don't want to take it to the dealer because I haven't recovered yet from the $1200 they charged to replace one of the front air suspensions.
Again, is there a way to reset the Pre-Collission System? Something similar to the tire pressure monitor system?

Might work
Many of the "reset" problems can be resolved by disconnecting the battery cable and leaving it off overnight. Be aware that you will also have to reset your other settings like seat, radio, etc. And since the car has "adjusted" to your driving habits via the computers on-board, they will also reset to the original factory defaults so it will drive more like it did when it was new. But it will probably reset your cruise control warning also. Worth a try and let us know the results.

As I recall, this question was raised and discussed on the Lexus Owners Forum (not this one) recently. Apparently, the computer(s) in cars from at least the 90's forward "learn" some of the driving habits and make minor adjustments. This is why a car can respond differently when the battery dies or is changed out. Usually, again from my rusty memory, this is related to transmission shift points. I recall one of the discussants even related this applied to an older pick-up truck. Usually applies to cars driven by only one or two regular drivers.
