I have a benz also and there's a gripe to every vehicle. How about the base of the seat cracking at only 25k miles??? Accelerator pedal position replaced at 30k (stupid dealer said it was my transmission), right cat went dead at 25k miles also-thank goodness for warranty.
I can go on with my 01 S500, granted mb got better in the 03<.

Well yeah, the 57S is based on the last generation S-class, of course it is dated and looks like the old S-class.
I prefer it due to it's total luxury design intend, higher material grade, MUCH higher exclusivity.......

The Maybach got the same engine as the S65, that's why I said I prefer the Maybach, same power, tons more luxury.
But the Mayback are a tad slower then the S65 due to their higher weight, not much slower though, since they are both traction limited. Who want to go fast in that much luxury anyway?
Well it's at at least an extra $100k for the maybach 57.
Don't know how much it's dropped in value though.
yes new to new, the 57S is almost $200k more then the S65.
But since most of us buy used cars here, resell value of Maybach drop like a rock, since it is not a desirable car for buyers in that price range, they prefer the Rolls-Royce Phantom much more.
Used S65 and used 57s are in the same ballpark, used price wise.
