35 to 40 series does make a difference. Of course 40 series from stock is a big difference to. But not as big of difference from goin 40 to 35.

LOL Some of you guys are acting like there are 6" difference between a 19" and a 20" wheel with all your comments about how monmumentally better a 20 looks. I think you're obsessing over it a bit and there isn't THAT much difference in 1".
For those who are considering the size/aspect ratio question and wondering if you'll destroy the LS amazing ride, I suggest you pay heed to what I and others have written about ride quality deterioriation. Despite the magical internet results that some report
it generally is a very real issue. No free lunch, and all...

I'm speaking primarily about this thead -- most everything has been covered here, though it's been discussed many times in other threads.
As the sidewall gets shorter and shorter -- particularly as you go below ~4" -- the "ride" harshness goes up almost exponentially (all else being somewhat equal). That said, it also depends upon what section width you're talking about. For example, a 295/30 may ride like a dream compared to a 215/30 because at 3.5" sidewall on the 295/30 you're at about the minumum that can give any "reasonable" level of compliance if you're looking for quiet and comfort. The 2.5" sidewall of the 215/30 is wood-like (and apparently wood-inducing for some) compared to the 3.5" of the 295/30.

there is a difference, ask wheezy f baby and the cash money crew sike. but it really all depends on the design of the rim. a lot of 20s look small compared to some well designed 19s. i know this is all just subjective babble but thats what this kind of forum is for, right? and you should buy one of my 20" sets an put your volks away
