My comparsion between my 06E350 (AMG PACK) vs. 04LS430 Ultra
Handling = MB
MB feels much more confident on twisty roads, and LS feels much more nervous even in "sport" mode
Comfort = Lexus
My LS is ultra, has tons of comfort features, however the MB is quite comfortable for those long road trips as well
Relaibility = Lexus
Lexus hands down, even though I had no problems with my MB except the cd player...
There you have it!

Seriously though...whats up with all of these "this car" vs the LS 430???? Do the research there are plenty of car research websites out there that you can compare cars on. Especially as far as specs & such go. Also there are things called car reviews for a reason. These kind of posts are a waste of bandwith

Reviews and/or comparison test on the web sites are normally for new cars.
And if one person only drive one they can't compare it to the other.

I drove an 07 E550. The ride was firm but very sporty. Fast tight turns are a breeze. A good feel for the road. Mucho horsepower (a E350 would be more comparable to the LS430) and it comes on fast. Very nice interior but not as plush as the LS430. Totally different driving environment.
You will need to compare the GS350 vs the E350 for a better comparison as the LS430 would normally be compared with the Mercedes S class and the BMW 7 series.

build quality of the e class interior seems to be lacking vs the LS430.
they also have the lame SBC brake pump noise, you figure it would have 200,000 miles! Also the electronic functions with german benz is kinda awkward. AC light ON means AC is turned off. Fan light ON means fan is turned off.
also a factory warranty is a must with a Benz, no warranty and u will cry!

I too drove the E500 before buying the LS. In all seriousness, I couldn't get "Hyundai interior" out of my mind while in the E. I'd just rented a the "up-scale" Hyundai or Kia (whatever it was) while traveling about 2 weeks earlier, and I swear the E interior was sooo similar.... Not a luxury car feel, IMO, but then again the E and the LS are different types of cars.

I'm not fond of either actually. The MB looks cluttered. There are a ton of buttons on the radio/nav. Contrast of materials is also pretty similar.
The Hyundai pictured looks nice, but a little plain. Looks more similar to a Cadillac DTS (the older gen body style not the new)

That's one photo of one Kia/Hyundai you posted. Look at some of the other Kias -- like the Amanti in black interior -- previous generation, I think it was at the time.... I am simply saying that the interior materials looked and felt much the same, the seats felt similar, the instruments were similar. I'm just telling you what they felt like to me. I could buy either -- and have owned MB's in the past -- but the E just feels mass market, IMO.

I light of the MB build-quality debate... besides maybe the C-Class, MB has exceptionally well-built interiors, and I think the current S-Class surpasses that found in the LS460... although I am aware it's significantly more expensive.
