Strut failure!
I had two strut failures over the course of three months. Each corner is approximately $1100.00 per repair plus tow bill at a MB dealer. The car had 78K and 80K when they failed. That was enough for me. A good tuned suspension and tire/rim match setup is all I require now. $4400.00 in possible repairs for a car with 80K was too much in my opinion for something that was rarely used.
That is the main reason I purposely looked for a non-UL LS430. Also the reason I bought a Landcruiser and not a LX470. My Landcruiser is maxed with the air suspension delete. Had to order it, but worth every bit in my opinon. The LX470 comes with it standard, and they have the same failure rate the UL LS430's have.

Thank you for letting me know Randy B!
For me, I love the rear seat package of the UL to not have a UL. I too worry about the air strut failing, but seems like only some of them fail at 120k miles, and I can buy the strut wholesale new from Lexus for $750 each, and a company is working on rebuilding them for $400 each. Worse come to worse, I just convert it back to conventional steel springs and struts. But I get to keep all the other toys.
I was just curious of the MB failure, thank you. I am never gonna own a MB, I tell you that.

V2 CS with EDFC costs around 1500.00, I can install them myself

same here. but the reality is nothing last forever, I just hope it last a longggg time, say 200k miles.
This company www.arnottindustries.com suppose to be working on remanufactured air struts for the LS430, they offer it for the LS400 now for $400 each. And they come with a lifetime warranty, but for the parts only.
