I know the ignorant general public would think that, 8 must use more gas then a 4.

Anyone that knows cars would know that is not true, 23 psi vs. NA, and you drive them the opposite way too, I am sure you floor the EVO everywhere you go and just cruise slowly in the LS. That's what I do.

I just smoked a brand new dealer plate Cayenne GTS on my way to work this morning in my STi, those SUV people are funny, they think they got 400 hp and pay $90k for his Porsche, he must be fast They got no sense of power to weight ratio.

Everytime I drive my LS430, I just set the cruise control to 65 mph and enjoy the sereneness. I can careless about everyone who tailgate me.

My last fill was 18.741 gallons @ $3.879 a galon 92 octane. Miles driven 364.8 at ave speed 24 mph and 19.6 mpg. Got readout from my dash readout and from gas receipt. After increasing tire psi to 35psi, I noticed a 1-2 MPG increase. My tires were also wearing on the out and inner is the reason for the added PSI. My glovebox written psi was rated at 30psi for the stock 16" size tires.

Well the diameter and width of the wheels/tires have a major effect on the gas mileage, big heavy wheels add A LOT of unspung weight, wide tires add rolling resistance, both decreases mpg in a big way.

I am on the OEM 18s with the stock 245/45 tires, and the best I can do per tank is 420 miles.

Guys with 450~500 miles per tank, can you guys tell the wheel/tire size you guys are running to confirm my theory?

That is why no DUBS for me, I'll just stick to modding my floor mats and handicap tag

At least I lowered the car!

I thought I was the only nerd who knew anything about "HyperMiling"! I travel alot with my company. I'm on the road an average of 450 miles/week. So I frequently practice HyperMiling. Watching the avg MPG, not using the brakes as often, letting the car take off from a dead stop on it's own, coasting etc. I only fill up once a week and my light only comes on when I get aggressive with the throttle. This last time I went to 477 miles and my tank was low but the light didn't come on yet. I have only added an F5 Air Intake but I don't know that it has been a benefit to the fuel mileage.

I get 21.5 combined city / highway and about 26.5 highway. Run stock rims and tires, fill the tank with regular and drive it like I didn't steal it.

Here's my spec:
18" wheels
power button off
Tank Avg: 17.5 mpg, 20gal, costco 91 grade
50/50 freeway/local

So today, it's at the line above the E and it reads 345 miles.
I say it's much better than my GS300, maybe bigger tank helps

However, I swear that after getting in and out starting the car about 3 times (I should clarify that it doesn't take 3 times to start the car), it moves 1 needle length down.
I'm going to try to take a vid to show you guys. It sucks too much gas just to start the car
