I have a 2005 LS430 - so when you update the disc, even in an older car, it shows the updated maps and icons like in a newer model GPS??????

Unfortunately not-still the same lame maps . All that is updated is your POI's such as new Starbuck's, restaurants etc. And by the way, I have the Ultimate Lockpick and 7.1. It does NOT allow override in the '05.

The new version is already out.. I got mine about a month ago.. They run about $270 I think. Install it yourself, do NOT let the dealer install it b/c they wanted to charge $40 to do it for you. All you do is put the disk in and then on the screen select the region you are in and it will automatically update for you... less than 1 minute of work but they want to charge $40...

I have gen. 2/3 with the OE 7.1 and the override works. You don't need to make a hybrid.

Don't you have to pull the center console if you get the vais stuff, too? Or is that the same function as the lockpick?
