The owners manual tidbit is certainly interesting. I wonder why they recommend against it? Electrolysis, maybe?

 

I put 35% metallic all the way around and have had 0 problems.

 

I just got the Wincos IR Ceramic film installed and it blocks A LOT of heat. Combine that with my rear sun shades and front window cover, and the car really isn't hot when I get in.

On the subject of air conditoined seats... they don't really do much.

 

I have a silver '04 LS430 with black interior and had a 99 LS400 silver with tan interior and don't notice much difference on the interior, in FL it is hot as H*ll if left in the sun.

The tint made the biggest difference.

The seat conditioners are a joke, they take too long to seem to start working. They seem to only be good at keeping your back from sweating, but not much cooling. Changing the filters didn't make it any better in mine.

When I complained, I was told it was designed to be 'Soft' in cooling, meant to keep you from sweating. But did note that many of the blower motors fail or run at a much slower RPM then when new but mine were working ok so couldn't get them to replace.
