Yes the car has two cruise sensors, which leads me to believe it wasn't original, because you either get a grille mounted one, or a bumper mounted one. So either the bumper or the grille have been replaced. Which ever it is, i don't feel comfortable about buying either. I got the pic from another thread a member posted.

the emblem on the grill is part of the PCS (pre-collision system) an the laser cruise control on the bumper. I was pretty sure that you could get those together.

Actually, I was confused before also.

But the glass emblem is the PCS which also includes the dynamic laser cruise. You're not supposed to get that lower opening. On my car and the one that GRAND LS4 posted, body shop replaced it with those bumper.

The opening on the lower bumper is dynamic cruise only(no PCS)

I think I said this once before, let me say it again, this is always a very confusing subject.

I got it figured out, so let me try to clear it up:

On the LS430's Ultra and Custom luxury package, there are 2 types of dynamic cruise control. Laser and Radar.

The system with the PCS, use a radar sensor.

The regular system without the PCS, use a laser sensor.

The glass emblem on the grill, is the radar sensor, which means the car has PCS.

The hole on the lower bumper, is the laser sensor, which means no PCS.

The PCS came out very late in 04', only a few late model 04' UL has it. But just about all 05' and 06' UL has PCS.

In California, every 05'/06' Ultra I have seen, has the PCS. But I have never seen a Custom in any year that has the PCS.

Also most East coast Ultra I have seen, don't have PCS. I believe that is due to the weather, because the radar sensor is very sensitive to rain and snow. Everytime it rain here in So Cal, which is about 10 days in a year, I get a PCS warning message on my car due to the radar sensor being dirty. As soon as it dry up or I clean the sensor, the error message goes away. Lexus knows this, so they don't equip the East coast region cars with PCS/Radar. That is my theory.

I buy your theory, but the error is not unique to the PCS system. On my CL, the laser cruise does not work in rain either. When I turn it on, it seems to work for a little bit, then gets an error message and goes off. Happened a few times.

I mean think about it, if the system is made to detect "objects" in front of the vehicle, if there is a wall of rain ahead of you, then it's pretty hard for a "system" to discern is it rain, or an actual object that I should slow down for?
