Default Tip - Programing Driving Positions to Smart Key

For those that may not know, you can program you memory positions to your smart key. This will automatically reset your driver position preferences when you open the car with your key. Basically the same as pressing 1 - 2 - 3 but you dont have to press the button so it's faster.

To do this you must have your preferences memorized in button 1, 2, or 3.

With the ignition in the OFF position, press and continue to hold your memory button down, then press the unlock button on YOUR smartkey. You will hear a long beep.

Voila!

It's in the manual but I just figured there is probably a lot of folks that havn't sat down and actually read through the whole thing.

btw, this could be irritating for a passenger that uses your car with your key. Each time they get in and out, they will have to move the seat again.

Who cares about the passenger, I own the car... ha ha.

This is good to know that it's so easy to do this. I knew it was possible and which was the reason I'm looking for an '05 with Smartaccess. I saw some CL trim that had the color and package I was looking for, but no Smartaccess, so it broke the deal.

Using a key to open the door - old, old school
Using a remote to open the door - so '80s
Have the remote in your pocket, open and start the car - priceless.

EXCELLENT !!!!

it's the feature I love about the car most. Not having to whip your keys out to pop the trunk or open the door when you have your hands full is truly priceless.

Now if only my front door had smartaccess....
