Default '04 LS Bluetooth Phone Cut Off? Need Advice

Hi all,

My good friend of mine just purchased a '04 LS. Since I have '02 LS, I have no idea how bluetooth phone works in '04-'06 model. Since he does not have a manual for this car, I seek your advice to answer his question.

He claims that when he gets second call while he is on the first call via bluetooth, 1st call gets cut off and answer the 2nd call.

Is this normal or is there a setting? I would assume there must be a call waiting feauture or option to ignore the second call that comes in.

I appreciate your help, guys. Thank you.

Interesting dilemma, never had this happen.
I haven't had 2 people call at the same time while I'm on the bluetooth

I'll try to replicate this and if something comes up, I'll report back.

Yeah, cell phone has option to take the second call or ignore but it's strange that cut the first call off and take the second without any command...

I have a Plam Treo 680 and it dose the same thing, i disabled call waiting to stop the problem from happining. It sucks but that is the only way to keep your current call from being drop for the incoming call.

well, if your phone allows call waiting then you shouldnt have any problems....dont pickup the second call from the nav screen instead pick up from the phone and the first call will still be waiting.

I wish it were that simple but it is not, if i'm on a call with you and my wife calls me, your call is dropped immediately. Then i anwser her call, if you call me back then she is dropped. So to fix the issue i just turn off call waiting, and let people leave VM.

I believe it is BT software issue between the car and or phones, I’m sure they are different versions that might be a problem. All BT phones are not going to work 100% (perfect) with other BT hardware, I’m sure if were to use a different BT compatible phone I would not have this problem. Our LS has gen 4 nav system, and my wife’s 08 RX has gen 5 and we (she has the same phone) do not have the call waiting issue with her car. I have talk to dealer about the problem and he says it is the type of phone I have, I have gave up back in June when I got the car and just settle with turning off the call waiting feature to avoid the interpreted calls.
